1. What is shareurride or carpooling?

Though it goes by many different names the literal meaning still remains the same which is sharing your ride with others who goes to the same destination or direction as you there by saving fuel, environment, traffic congestion and money.

2. How do I register?

It is easy to register for SHAREURRIDE and won't take more than a minute to fill in your details if you have them ready. Click on the icon on top right side of your screen which says 'sign up' and follow the simple instructions listed. If you have an facebook Id it is even simpler. All you would have to do is just log in with your facebook Id.

3. I do not have internet access, but want to be in the pool?

Shareurride is just not confined to your computers, but also to other devices such as tablet, ipad, smart phones etc where you can access using your 3G or 4G network. If you do not have access to any of these devices, you can still access it from libraries, local café's or neighbourhood houses. Since this is an online platform we highly recommend you have access to internet connectivity.

4. How much does it cost to become a member? 

Membership is ABSOLUTELY FREE!!!

5. I forgot my username or password?

If you forget your username, you can still log in using your email address. It is recommended that you log in with your email address. If you have forgotten your password, you can click on 'Forgot your password' in the bottom when you click on 'log in' icon. Once you submit your details, an email will be sent to you to reset your password and you can update your password accordingly.

6. How do I find a pooling companion once after registration?

After registering, you can search for an already existing trip via the 'trip search' option or you can click on 'post a trip' to post a new trip as a driver or passenger requesting a suitable partner to travel. Once you find a partner or partners travelling in same direction you can ping them or exchange information to meet and explore the feasibility of pooling with each other.

7. What if they don't turn up? 

Check the timing arrangements, if it is right and the person did not turn up, go into the rating section and rate that member accordingly. If you feel there was no communication or any effort to contact you, you can email us stating the name of the user and we will contact that member and educate them about pool etiquette. If this action still persists that member will be removed from shareurride membership.

8. Where should the meeting place be?

This is usually up to the driver, but should be discussed between both parties. For safety, unless you know the person, don't meet them at your place, but choose a public place that is easy to access, park and visible to other people.

9. I do not want my contact or personal details to be visible to everyone. What options do I have for my data privacy?

When using shareurride, contact details such as email address or telephone number should have to be shared to make the communication effective and complete the travel successfully. Having said that, shareurride always respects your privacy and the data provided will be safe in our secured database. It is up to the users to reveal the contact details to others. Please be advised not to use your office or any official email address with everyone. Instead you can use your email address like gmail, yahoo or Hotmail.

10. How do we share costs once we decide to pool?

Once after finding the partner you can negotiate the cost. The approximate cost based on average mileage and fuel cost will be listed automatically. However the drive can increase or decrease the rates and it is up to the passenger to accept or decline it.

11. How do I get more people to contact me?

To increase your visibility or to ensure more people to contact you, keep your profile updated and fill in all the necessary details. Logging in using facebook Id and getting your mobile number verified will increase your identity and will allow people to know more about you before they could share a ride with you.

12. I want to pool only one day or I commute on alternative days. Can that be arranged?

Whether you are travelling one day or all day or alternative or just one off, SHAREURRIDE has all these functions and gives its user the best experience to explore and use its service in every possible way. All you would have to do is to choose the appropriate tab according to your travel.

13. My pooling partners have different timings to that of mine. What should I do?

Try negotiating a common time with your partners, if things do not work out, it is best advised to seek alternative partner who match your timings. Please make sure that you are there on time and do not make your partner's wait for you as this does not leads to healthy pooling.

14. I would like to know more about shareurride. Could you please give me some details about the site?
